How much money will you give me to start a business?

The Centre does not have funds available for grants; however we can assist you in the development of a business plan in order to access loans and funding programs.


Can you tell me what kind of business I should start?

Starting a business is an adventure and a challenge. It is going to take all your time and effort to develop your business plan. Build on your own experiences. Choose a field where you have knowledge and talent. If you kill every plant you purchase, perhaps a greenhouse is not the best idea for you. The resource library at the Centre contains a wide variety of materials on a myriad of topics. Drop in, browse through the materials and talk with our staff. We can help you focus on an enterprise which would not only suit your talents but also be viable in the current marketplace.


How do I find information on markets and marketing?

The Centre has a large amount of information in our resource library. In addition, we can can guide you through research on the internet using the Community Access computers. A substantial list of internet sites relating to business, government, and resource bureaus is available.


How do I write a business plan?

Staff at the Centre can help you develop a comprehensive business plan. Handouts outlining a basic plan and its various necessary components are available. We can also refer you to agencies and consultants who are experts in the field of business management.
